What happens?

This years Learning festival is from Friday 26th June - Saturday 4th July.


The promotional day in St Sampsons Square will be on Friday 26th June offering the opportunity to join in different activities and find out about exciting taster sessions running in and around York the following week. There is also a promotional day in Acomb Front Street on Saturday 27th June with stalls and activities taking place in the Explore library centre. The Libraries mobile will also be there on both days.
 
York Learning Festival 2009 gives you an opportunity to try out something new and find out information about adult education courses and programmes starting in September 2009. 
 
The focus for the festival this year is the Big City read Sovereign by C.J Sampson nominated by York libraries. Sovereign is set during the progress of Henry VIII and his court in York in 1541 and this year's festival will be themed around Tudor England.
