About York City of Festivals Our Aims
An initiative of York @ Large, the cultural partnership for the city, York City of Festivals has the following aims: - to make the city more eventful, building on the vibrancy and diversity of York's year-round programme of festivals
- to look for opportunities to build on the success of existing festivals and help new festivals to develop
- to support and advise festival and events organisers on all aspects of putting on an event, including health and safety, insurance, booking a suitable venue, and marketing and PR
- to encourage a more citywide approach to events and festivals through working with the Council and other key partners to help remove barriers to filling the city with events
- to build community participation in festivals and other cultural events
